Ichibantai: A sudden call

Genryuusai had kept vigilant eyes over the years, his patience and scrutiny were what maintained the order within Soul Society. It had been some time since any disturbances had arisen, and yet Genryuusai took matters at hand with the same amount of stony proficiency. He had received an urgent message from Captain of the 12th division, Kurotsuchi Mayuri. Apparently the Development Bureau had detected an anomaly in one of the sectors being monitored in the human world. The scientist deemed it necessary to hold and assembly, and that in itself was an unusual event. The old man pondered the measures to be taken, stroking his long white beard, as he waited for the arrival of the respective division members.

Outside the First Division quaters, Soifon could been seen approaching the meeting. After dropping the letter off to Zaraki's division, she had received a Hell Butterfly ordering her to come here.

"T-t-taichou!" a tired voice came from behind her. The kunoichi turned her head to see her bloated lieutenant. She groaned at the very sight of him. What a pitiful person he was.

"Ōmaeda...What took you so long?" she asked in a stern tone.

The bloated man gasped for air. "You were going so fast!" From this, he received a kick to his gut.

"Your pathetic..." Soifon stated and calmly walked in. She gave a short bow to Genryusai-sama. "Good day soutaichou." she said and took her spot in the line-up. Her lieutenant towered over her. He was such a disgrace...

Soifon couldn't help but wonder what was going on now. Were new ashinigami choosen to fill the spots Aizen, Gin, and Tousen had left behind? Or was it something more? Either way, Soifon was ready for anything.

The captain suddenly appeared out of nowhere, his annoyed lieutenant held under his arm. He put her down gently, and made sure he'd come to the right spot. He didn't really have a clue why they were here, but he knew what heppened when unexpected hell butterflies were fluttering about the place. His eyes scanned the room. Only the second division had beaten them, but they probably got the message before him.

He smiled slightly awkwardly at Nanao. She was probably already pretty angry if she had tracked him down to the bar, but picking her up without warning wasn't usually a way to get her calmer.

Matsumoto appeared on scene, immediately demonstrating her reverence to the commander, upon entering the temperate meeting hall.

“Greetings, Genryuusai Soutaicho”

Attentive blue eyes scanned the reunion for her silver haired superior, promptly taking her place beside him. The blonde adopted a more sober demeanor, her posture tense and unlike herself. Despite her years in service, there was a certain air of awkwardness that still managed to aggravate the casual woman whenever she stood within those walls, after all lieutenants were seldom called into assembly in conjunction with their Captains. Discreetly , the 10th divisions adjutant made note of the ones present, and was surprised to find “both” Shunsui and Nanao were already there; the circumstances in which they ran into each other and arrived she could only imagine amusedly. As for the rest; the second division Captain was as stoic and level headed as ever, poor Marechiyo seemed to be feeling more out of place than even herself… and others were still to arrive.
